While we\’re on the subject of Palestinian Arabs as “peace partners” with Israel, today\’s quote comes to us from mahmoud abbas, the head of Fatah, which we are supposed to be stupid enough to believe is the “moderate” Palestinian Arab faction.
Here is what he had to say – in Arabic, not English – to the UN Human Rights Commission (a joke, if you know the countries in it).
“For how long will this protracted Israeli occupation of our land last? After 67 years, how long?”
If abbas had said “Since 1967” he would have been talking about Gaza and Judea/Samaria (the west bank).
But he didn\’t. He said “after 67 years”.
Israel, in its current status, was created by the UN in 1948. That was 67 years ago.
In other words, when he speaks in Arabic, abbas tells us the real agenda. It is not to liberate Palestinian Arabs from the so-called “occupied territories” (I\’m still trying to understand how winning territory in a defensive war constitutes makes Israel an occupying force). It is to take over Israel. All of it.
mahmoud abbas wins Quote Of The Day honors for bluntly explaining what his real agenda is……..in a language anyone who speaks English would not understand.
