I gave up on the New York Times as a neutral news source years ago. I consider it a leftward promotional publication.
Here is the latest reason why.
First, the Times’ headline and first paragraph:

And now the reason for what you just read:
The Georgia Election Board just voted 3-2 to approve a rule requiring election workers to compare total votes with ID’ed VOTERS in the system. If discrepancies are found in any precinct, the counties MUST withhold certifying the results until the fraud is addressed
“For each precinct, the board members shall compare the total number of ballots cast to the total number of unique voter ID numbers. In any precinct in which the number of ballots exceeds the number of unique voters, the Board shall determine the method of voting in which the discrepancy exists. The Board shall investigate the discrepancy and no votes shall be counted from that precinct until the results of the investigation are presented to the Board as required in GA Code$ 21-2-493(b).”
A legal mechanism designed to insure that votes have been cast by legal voters is a far-right action? How? Is The Times saying an accurate vote count is a far-right plot of some kind? Evidently the answer is yes.
It would sway an election?? The only way insuring a legitimate vote count could sway an election is that it would cause the rightful winner to prevail instead of someone winning via illegal votes. This is a problem to The Times?
Still wondering why I have so little faith in The New York Times?
I didn’t think so.
