Kamala Harris will be the Democrat nominee for President.
It isn’t because she won the primaries. She didn’t compete in them and didn’t get even one vote.
It isn’t because she will win the competition for this nomination during the Democrats’ national convention in Chicago next month.
It isn’t because, according to Elena Schneider’s article at politico.com:
Kamala Harris will be the only candidate on the Democratic National Committee’s virtual roll call ballot for president, cementing her status as the party’s all-but-certain nominee.
Three other candidates filed with the DNC, but they failed to collect 300 delegate signatures necessary to gain access to the virtual ballot.
So no-primaries/no convention challenge Kamala Harris has “won”. The fix is in.
I wonder how she will react/what she will say/what voters will think of her when someone actually campaigns against her. I wonder how her word-salad non-answers will stack up when she’s actually challenged; when she doesn’t get the free pass she’s had until now.
My personal expectation? The minute Trump and his people start defining Harris to the voting public, the minute that free pass is over, she is in a world of trouble.
We’ll find out very soon, won’t we?
