I am watching the House hearing in which Secret Service Director Kimberly A. Cheatle is supposed to explain/defend the secret service “protection” afforded Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania – specifically why a 20 year old kid with an AR-15 was able to climb up on a roof, with an unobstructed view of Trump, and shoot at him.
BOTH SIDES are nailing her. Not just Republicans, but – albeit to a lesser degree – Democrats as well.
She is, and should be, toast. Even if Cheatle thinks she can tough this out she is going to be told by Democrats that every day she stays is a day that Republicans have a campaign issue for the presidential election. No way can she stay on.
Goodbye and good riddance.

UPDATE: A revision of my statement that Democrats are going after Cheatle to a lesser degree.
With exception of Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC), the 87 year old remnant who used her 5 minutes to make a non-sequitur statement in favor of gun control, Democrats are going after her just as hard as Republicans.
