Not my first choice. I would have preferred someone with more political experience and some foreign policy experience (Nikki Haley would have been the best of the bunch).
But not a bad choice either.
Before becoming a U.S. Senator, James David “J. D.” Vance was a marine, then a graduate of Yale Law School. He is a best-selling author (Hillbilly Elegy) and a successful venture capitalist.
Plus, his youth (he’s 39 years old), his midwest roots and his wife (of Indian ancestry) are probably meaningful to a good many voters.
Oh, and he’s a strong supporter of Israel.
I will now wait for our media to tell me everything wrong with him.
It shouldn’t take long.
