U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon has dismissed the so-called “classified document” case against former and possible future President Donald Trump.
The reason? In Judge Cannon’s words:
“The Superseding Indictment is DISMISSED because Special Counsel Smith’s appointment violates the Appointments Clause of the United States Constitution.”
I’m no lawyer and I don’t know what to make of this decision. But I know that, even if Trump’s enemies (Attorney General Merrick Garland certainly among them) can resurrect this case, it won’t be before November’s presidential election.
Now: when does AG Garland go after Joe Biden for the massive number of classified documents he had in his personal possession which – unlike Trump who, as President, had every right to possess them and to declassify them – Biden accumulated when he was a Senator and Vice President, thus with NO right to possess them and NO ability to declassify them?
And when do our wonderful “neutral” media demand that Garland do so?
And, if the reason our wonderful “neutral” media are not demanding Biden do so is Special Counsel Robert Hur’s conclusion that he could not be successfully prosecuted because “at trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory”, when do they demand that he immediately resign the presidency, end his re-election campaign, and move to an assisted care facility?
