Silent Donald???
Yep, silent Donald.
His comments about Joe Biden and Kamala Harris from the golf course – when he didn’t know he was being recorded – notwithstanding, Donald Trump has done something many of us would have thought near-impossible. He has shut the eff up about Joe Biden’s possible departure from the presidential race.
Is this a good move? Absolutely yes, it is. In fact, it is his very best move.
Napoleon once said “Never interfere with an opponent while he is making a mistake”. In today’s situation, that wise advice would be “Never open your big fat trap and move attention away from your political opponent when everything he and his people are doing make him look terrible.”
I don’t know how knowledgeable Donald Trump is about Napoleon. But his thoroughly uncharacteristic silence, as Biden’s campaign implodes and Democrats are in chaos over a) whether/how to get rid of him and b) whether they can replace him with someone other than the flyweight cackler Kamala Harris while avoiding an internal race war, is the epitome of Napoleon’s advice.
Maybe this will be a larger lesson for Mr. Trump; that, sometimes, saying nothing is better than saying anything at all.
I doubt it. But you never know.
