Braggadocio: boastful, arrogant behavior
Bragg-a-dope-io: A Manhattan District Attorney who is willing to let the people he allegedly represents go to hell, while he pursues a Captain Ahab-like vendetta against his personal Moby Dick; Donald Trump.

Nearly all the protesters charged with storming and occupying Columbia University’s campus during heated anti-Israel demonstrations won’t face criminal charges, Manhattan prosecutors announced Thursday — drawing outrage from law enforcement and Jewish advocates.
District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office dismissed cases against 31 of 46 people charged with trespassing in the Ivy League school’s Hamilton Hall after a dramatic April 30 NYPD raid rounded up protesters on the Morningside Heights campus.
The dismissals quickly drew fury from rank-and-file NYPD officers, higher education officials and Jewish leaders who spoke with The Post.
Prosecutors also threw out nine cases — including six students — who were charged for occupying a building at the City College of New York protests on April 30.
Several police sources could barely contain their disbelief to The Post.
“Lack of evidence?” one said. “Apparently body-worn camera wasn’t enough?”
Hate Jews? Support hamas, which is on record as wanting all Jews dead – not just in Israel but worldwide? No problem to the Bragg-a- dope-io DA. You get a free pass. Nothing left to do but decide where else you will commit crimes on behalf of terrorist Jew-haters that will go unpunished as well.
But possibly misrecord a series of payments (a misdemeanor) – which occurred long past the statute of limitations ran out?
If your name is Trump, that means:
-pretending it has relevance to a federal crime (which would mean it should be tried in a federal court, not state);
-charging 34 felonies; one for each payment: the equivalent of charging a thief who robs your house separately for every individual item taken;
-conducting the trial where the jury pool is drawn from an area that voted something like 90% for Biden over Trump;
-finding an overtly Biden-supporting Judge whose daughter is getting rich off the trial – a judge who, among other rulings, disallows virtually any testimony on Trump’s behalf from an election expert and former member of the FEC, on the grounds that it would “confuse” the jury;
-putting a gag order on Trump, so he cannot defend himself in public, while allowing everyone else connected to the trial to speak at will;
-forcing Trump to be there every day, so he could not campaign across the country;
-and dragging the trial out for over a month, before the inevitable “guilty” verdict came in: a verdict almost 100% certain to be overturned based on the obvious fraudulence of the charges and the trial.
There it is. Bragg-a-dope-io in all it’s, uh, splendor.
But Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg need not worry. He is dealing with voters in Manhattan: a place where there are so many Duh Democrats (i.e. guaranteed Democrat voters, no matter what) that he will be re-elected again and again anyway…even as they experience soaring crime and the closing of stores – including necessary ones like drug stores and supermarkets – one after the other.
Bragg just has to tell them it’s because of Trump and Republicans. Hey, what difference does it make that Democrats are in 100% charge of New York City. People believe what they want to believe. And Bragg has enough Duh Democrats in town to assure he’ll come out on top.
Lucky Bragg. And too bad for them.
But, then again, voters get – and deserve – what they vote for. So you’ll pardon me if I’m not especially sympathetic.
