LanceCpl. William “Kyle” Carpenter and Nicholas Eufrazio were marine Lance Corporals.
In November of 2010, while on a rooftop in Helmand Province, they wereattacked by enemy fighters.
A live grenade landed on the roof next to both men,and Carpenter threw himself between the grenade and Eufrazio. Eufrazio “received a shrapnel injury to thehead from the grenade,” while Carpenter\’s body “absorbed a majorityof the resulting explosion,” according to the official Marine Corps\’account of the incident.
Carpenter won our country\’s medal of honor.
LamarOdom was a professional basketball player. He went to a house ofprostitution near Las Vegas and took enough drugs – sexual enhancers plus whoknows what else – and liquor so that he almost died.
