According to several Egyptian sources…
An Israeli strike on a two-story building in Janta, Southern Lebanon, has resulted in the deaths of 14 members of Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. The strike resulted in the death of Hashim Safi Al Din, the Head of Hezbollah’s Executive Council and the second-highest-ranking official in the terrorist organization, after Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah.
Assuming this is true, it comes quickly on the heels of this hezbollah setback…and hezbollah’s (predictable) reaction:
Lebanon’s Hezbollah movement has fired multiple barrages of rockets into northern Israel in retaliation for an Israeli strike which killed one of its senior commanders.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reportedly identified more than 200 projectiles that crossed the border on Wednesday. Some triggered fires, but no casualties were reported.
It came as a top Hezbollah official vowed that the Iran-backed group would increase the intensity, force and quantity of its attacks.
He was speaking at the funeral of Taleb Sami Abdullah, the field commander targeted in a strike in southern Lebanon on Tuesday night.
Hey, here’s an idea: stop firing rockets and other artillery at Israel and Israel won’t be taking out your leaders. Then, when the fighting stops, try (gasp!!!) living in peaceful coexistence. If for no other reason, because the alternative doesn’t seem to be working out very well.
Just a thought…
