It doesn’t get uglier than this.
About two weeks ago Donald Trump’s campaign put out a video that referenced “What’s Next For America”.
One part of the video had a background template of old news reports. It was clearly meant to communicate a time period in the past. But if you looked closely you could find the phrase “unified reich” within it.
Before discussing how that phrase got there, I want to show you the beginning of an email Joe Biden (his campaign, actually) sent out yesterday:

Last week, Donald Trump posted a video to his social media suggesting a second term for him would create a “unified Reich” in America.
Folks, listen… this is serious stuff. And it’s not like Trump’s echoes of Nazi Germany are a one-time thing.
He calls his political opponents “vermin,” he talks about the blood of America being poisoned, and he says he wants to be a dictator on “day one.”
Trump is trying to take America to a very dark place.
We don’t want to trivialize this at all. But we are going to use this opportunity to ask you to make today the day you make your first donation to Joe Biden’s reelection campaign.
Because if we don’t have the resources to win, we won’t. And this is the one thing you can do right now to make sure Trump doesn’t get the chance to take this country backward.
What you just read is a 100% lie.
-Trump didn’t suggest any such thing. That wording was on a template used by a staffer who didn’t see it. When it was discovered the video was immediately taken down.
-The template itself was created and sold by a young Turkish graphic designer named Enes Şimşek who lives outside of Istanbul.
-The reference within that template was to the second reich – which lasted from 1871 to the end of World War I in 1918 – and not hitler’s third reich. hitler did not become Chancellor of Germany until 1933. In other words, it had nothing to do with hitler.
There is no doubt that the Biden campaign knows this. But, if given the chance to lie about Trump as some kind of crypto-nazi (let’s remember that Trump was the President who moved our embassy to Jerusalem: some nazi!!) it didn’t hesitate for one second.
Despicable doesn’t begin to describe this.
But don’t worry, Joe and Co.; most of our media will either ignore your lie or gloss over it in a way that minimizes what you have done.
That is the state of our media today, and that is one of the reasons that, the more they throw at him, the stronger Trump’s prospects for a win in November get.
And if Judge merchan – after running as phony a trial as you will ever see – decides to sentence Trump to jail – the day of sentence (amazing coincidence here, I’m sure) being four days before the Republican convention? Bet on Trump’s numbers going up, not down.
Most people know a blatant banana republic move when they see one.
