As you might be aware (though you might not, because our media being what it is, has significantly underplayed the story), hunter biden’s trial for lying about his drug use when applying for a gun license is coming up next month.
And the proof of this lie, therefore biden’s guilt? That laptop which, for years, we were told was not really his…by many of the same “trustworthy” folks who also were telling us that Trump was colluding with Russia.
From Miranda Devine’s article for the New York Post, we have this reminder of how hard they worked to convince the public that biden’s laptop – which was reported by the New York Post just weeks before the 2020 election – was not the real thing:
The evolution of Hunter Biden laptop denial over the last three and a half years has been mind-boggling.
You need a chart to keep up.
First the laptop was a non-story (thanks, NPR).
Then it was “hacked material” (thanks, Twitter).
Then it was “Russian disinformation” (thanks, CIA).
Then it was a “Russian plant” (thanks, Joe Biden).
Then it was “stolen” by Russians.
(Hunter weighed in with crystal clarity: “I have no idea … There could be a laptop out there that was stolen from me. It could be that I was hacked. It could be that it was Russian intelligence. It could be that it was stolen from me.”)
Then it was “hacked by Rudy Giuliani” (thanks, Kevin “Sugar Brother” Morris).
And now it is the backbone of the prosecution case against the first son in the felony gun trial he faces in Delaware in a little over a week.
If the information contained on that laptop – which also includes copious material implicating Joe Biden in years and years of influence peddling for money – had been acknowledged as real, would it have affected the outcome of the election? Prevented Biden from becoming President? We’ll never know for sure. But it is certainly well within the realm of possibility.
Ms. Devine finishes her commentary this way:
It would have been a whole lot easier for everyone to just admit the laptop was real in the first place, instead of censoring the New York Post and creating an elaborate cover-up with the help of the FBI, CIA and Big Tech, which only heightened suspicions that what it contained must be super-dangerous for Joe Biden.
“Oh, what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive,” goes the line from Sir Walter Scott about the perils of lying.
It’s a lesson the president and his party seem incapable of learning.
I couldn’t agree more. Especially with that last sentence.
Will Joe Biden actually jump the shark and pardon his son (possibly before any incriminating evidence comes out in the upcoming trial)? That’s another thing we can’t know for sure. But it wouldn’t surprise me if he did…
…and it wouldn’t surprise me if that is when Biden drops out of the presidential race, saying these kinds of attacks on his family make running again impossible.
As kids growing up in Queens, NY, we had a comment about people who said things like this: “You’re so full of shit your eyes are brown”. On that basis, Joe Biden’s eyes are brown a great deal, even without doing anything to protect hunter (and therefore, of course, himself). But this would give them a particularly deep shade of that color.
