“SAMANTHA HUDSON”: HELLO AND GOODBYE

Are the people at Doritos (in Spain – but presumably approved by the main office) really this stupid?  Did they ever hear of Dylan Mulvaney?  Did they bother to check their version of Mulvaney – the one they decided to use a a spokesperson?  If not, WHY not??????.

Two stories for you.

First, from Tieran-Rose Mandleburg’s article for newsbusters.org, posted yesterday at 2:18PM:

Doritos absolutely did not learn anything from Bud Light’s failed attempt at promoting their product with a queer freak.

Doritos just shot itself in the foot after hiring a transgender brand ambassador. Samantha Hudson, a biological man presenting as a very unattractive woman, was just hired to promote the triangular chips in Spain. Many are comparing this campaign to the failed Bud Light campaign after it hired transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney to promote the beer last year.

Hudson, whose real name is Iván González Ranedo, was featured on a show called “Crunch Talks.”

In a 53 second clip which has now gained tons of traction online, Hudson munched on Doritos and the talked about being proud of who you are. MRC employee Luis Cornelio, a Spanish speaker, translated the conversation.

Hudson asked the girl he was with how she handles criticism from people on social media. “The only advice I will tell people always, and the one I’ve been applying always, is to be yourself. With the things we are recording today, Doritos is echoing my advice—dare to do whatever you want and don’t be afraid of what people may opine, right? People don’t faze me. Kisses to those people,” she told him.

I wonder why Hudson might be struggling with criticism …

Formerly Hudson has tweeted about his desires to rape children. “I want to do thuggish things, like stick a 12-year-old girl up my ass. Hudson’s also previously noted that he advocates for the “destruction and for the annihilation of the traditional family.”

And now, from Jeffrey Clark and Lindsay Kornick’s article for foxbusiness.com, posted yesterday at 7:51PM – about five and a half hourse – not days, but hours – later:

Doritos Spain terminated their relationship with transgender influencer Iván González Ranedo, who goes by the stage name Samantha Hudson, after the company came under intense backlash for posting a video on Instagram featuring Hudson.

A spokesperson for Doritos Spain confirmed to Rolling Stone magazine that a short promo called “Crunch Talks” was posted on Sunday and then removed on Monday. It emphasized that the video was not part of a larger brand ambassadorship campaign. The spokesperson also revealed that Hudson had been terminated from the company due to making controversial comments in the past.

“We have ended the relationship and stopped all related campaign activity due to the comments,” the spokesperson said. “We strongly condemn words or actions that promote violence or sexism of any kind.”

Hudson has made controversial statements on capitalism, the family and even child sexual abuse in the past.

Among other controversial alleged comments and posts that have resurfaced online, Hudson endorsed “the abolition of … the traditional monogamous nuclear family,” per the Daily Mail.

“As a teen, she has also tweeted about wanting to do ‘thuggish things’ to a minor,” the outlet reported, in this case a 12-year-old girl.

Yeah, hudson/ranedo has “apologized” for making these statements.  But a) he did make them, didn’t he, and b) how sincere is his apology, given that doing so might secure him a big payoff and loads of publicity from Doritos?

At least Bud Lite can claim ignorance; i.e. they could not have foreseen the fallout from using Dylan Mulvaney in their ad.  But Doritos knew all about Mulvaney, and did this anyway.

Holy excrement.

I will end by reposting my first paragraph, because I think it says everything:
