Today’s quote comes to us from long time hardline Democrat strategis/proponent/apologist Paul Begala.
On yesterday’s edition of CNN News Central, Begala was asked his reaction to President Biden’s “press conference”, in which he was supposed to dispute/debunk the Hur report. Begala’s answer:
“Look, I’m a Biden supporter. And I slept like a baby last night. I woke up every two hours crying and wet the bed. This is terrible for Democrats, and anybody with a functioning brain knows that.”
Yes, Begala went on to try and defend Biden, offering strategies for combating the effect of Hur’s report and Biden’s press conference. But nothing he said changed that first reaction.
And, as I am certain Mr. Begala is well aware, the general public doesn’t react and then strategize how to somehow overcome their reaction. They react, period. And there it sits.
I award Paul Begala Quote Of The Day honors for his honesty. You don’t often get that from political operatives in either party – especially when it hurts as much as this must have hurt Mr. Begala.
And I offer my condolences to him as well. Because, I have no doubt, the “hurt” part of this is not over. Not even close.
