HUR’S REPORT: THE END-GAME FOR BIDEN?

Robert Hur is the Special Counsel who just released his report on Joe Biden’s possession of classified documents at his private residences.

Here is the first paragraph of an article on what Hur concluded, from the decidedly anti-Biden New York Post:

President Biden “willfully retained and disclosed classified materials,” special counsel Robert Hur found in a bombshell report released Thursday — though Hur recommended against criminal charges, in part because a jury might view Biden as an “elderly man with a poor memory.”

And here is the first paragraph of an article on what Hur concluded, from the decidedly Biden-defending NBC News:

Special counsel Robert Hur has declined to prosecute President Joe Biden for his handling of classified documents but said in a report released Thursday that Biden’s practices “present serious risks to national security” and added that part of the reason he wouldn’t charge Biden was that the president could portray himself as an “elderly man with a poor memory” who would be sympathetic to a jury.

Notice the similarity?

And there is Biden’s problem, which, to me, seems insurmountable and transcends whether Hur recommended that Biden be prosecuted.

The problem – which media, whether for or against Biden, cannot escape – is that even if Biden “willfully retained and disclosed classified materials”, a jury is likely to show him mercy because he comes across as an  “elderly man with a poor memory”.

An elderly man with a poor memory…who is commander in chief of our armed forces and holds the nuclear codes.  A man, therefore, who should not be President of the United States.  Not now, not today.

The issue of whether he should be running, and winning, four more years in his already-debilitated state doesn’t even exist, does it?

I’m trying to decide which party is going to be more thrilled with this end-game assessment:  Republicans, who will see this as putting Democrats in turmoil and left with either flyweight cackler Kamala Harris or California destroyer Gavin Newsom…

…or Democrats, who were scared excrementless of trying to run a political campaign and support for more years when Biden is so obviously in a serious and advancing, state of dementia or senility.

Regardless, this is disastrous for Biden.  A game-ender.

My expectations?

-There will now be demands that the 25th amendment be implemented – i.e. that he be removed because he is incapable of performing his duties.

-There will now be media venues which, for three years, have tortured reality and logic to come up with ways of defending/explaining/rationalizing Biden’s obvious cognitive decline, acknowledging that it exists and has to be taken into consideration going forward.

I don’t know much about Robert Hur; who he is, what his politics are.  But I do know this:  he could not have damaged Biden more it he were trying to do so.

Oh, one other thing:  Biden called an impromptu news conference to dispute Hur’s findings and attack him – the first such news conference in recent memory.  And, during this conference he referred to “el-Sisi” as the President of Mexico.

el-Sisis is the President of Egypt.

If I were Hur, my reaction would be “I rest my case”.
