Here is another ugly event in San Francisco, the city that used to be a magnificent, unique place to live/tourist mecca, but has become a horrific mecca for homelessness, lawlessness, open drug use and streets littered with needles and human feces.
From Mariane Angela’s article at dailycaller.com:
Jeffrey’s Toys, the toy store in San Francisco that inspired the “Toy Story” movies will soon close its doors for good at the end of February, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.
The “Toy Story” franchise grossed a total of $3.7 billion at the worldwide box office, according to the Numbers. Six films were theatrically released, with “Toy Story 4” being the highest-grossing film, earning over $1 billion at the box office. Despite this success, the toy store the film was based is shutting its doors mainly due to financial difficulty. The beloved institution and the city’s oldest toy store is shutting down after 86 years in business. The closure comes amid escalating concerns over the city’s crime rate and other economic pressures, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Ken Sterling, the store’s attorney, cited multiple challenges leading to the decision.
“After 75 years of gratefully serving the San Francisco community, the store will be closing next month. The store has been struggling for a number of years, due to the perils and violence of the downtown environment, inflation, the decrease in consumer spending and the demise of retail across the world,” Sterling said in a statement, according to the outlet.
One after another, major national stores and San Francisco institutions close. Always for the same reason. But, bearing proof of Santayana’s wisdom in telling us that “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”, the powers that be in this once-great city keep putting each closure out of their memory and retaining/extending exactly the same conditions which caused it…thus assuring the the city more closures in the immediate future.
Look at this map, from August of last year to see how bad things have become…and understand that the number of closures has expanded since then:

Does that make things clear enough? I’ assume it does.
And with a depleted, demoralized police force, a DA who doesn’t bother to prosecute criminality and Proposition 47, passed by the benighted voters, making up to $950 of shoplifting nothing more than a misdemeanor – which, again, the so-called “law enforcement” barely bothers with – you can bet this map will continue to populate…in direct proportion to the retail businesses of downtown San Francisco (and other California cities) DE-populating.
Great job, guys. How proud you must be. I’m sure the “woke” population of your city and state are with you all the way.
