Today\’s quote comes to us from the execrable debbie wasserman schultz (she gets no capitalization in this blog entry – you\’ll understand why in a moment).
schultz wins Quote Of The Day “honors” for what I hope will be the single most tasteless political attack of the 2016 campaign.
It seems that Republican presidential hopeful, and fellow Floridian, Marco Rubio, is going to attend a fundraiser at the home of Dallas real estate developer and Republican activist/contributor, Harlan Crow.
Mr. Crow has a massive collection of historical documents and artifacts. Included among them are several from the nazi era, including a copy of mein kampf, signed by adolf hitler, and two of hitler\’s paintings.
Using that as a basis for an amazingly vile attack on Rubio, wasserman schultz said this:
“It is astounding that thepresence of these items that represent horror for millions of Jews the worldover, would not stop Mr. Rubio or anyone on his team in their tracks whenplanning this event. There’s really noexcuse for such a gross act of disrespect. Mr. Rubio, who by the way, represents a sizable Jewish population in our home state of Florida, shouldcancel this tasteless fundraiser.”
Point of order: Harlan Crow also owns countless other historical documents and artifacts from, among others,George Washington, the signers of the Delcaration of Independence and the constitution, Robert E. Lee. And, according to Brent Sher\’s article for the Washington Examiner, he also owns Frederick Douglass\’ Bible, the doodles of President Abraham Lincoln, President George Washington\’s 1789 Thanksgiving Proclamation, and statues of communist icons such as Lenin and Che Guevara.
In other words, Mr. Crow is an avid collector of historical items – from many different eras and from people of all persuasions. And among the countless items in his collection are nazi memorabilia.
Just like the Holocaust Museum.
debbie wasserman schultz\’s sick attempt to somehow make this seem like Crow is a nazi sympathizer, and Marco Rubio is okay with that, wins her Quote Of The Day honors. But I doubt she\’ll be bragging about it.
Could debbie wasserman schultz be a more disgusting, amoral pig? If so, how?
