Today\’s quote comes to us from conservative columnist/commentator Rich Lowry, who – during last night\’s Kelly File on Fox News Channel, made the following comment about Trump being eviscerated by Carly Fiorina in last week\’s debate :
“Look, Trump attacks everyonebut she\’s become a much bigger target. And I think part of what\’s going on hereis that last debate. Let\’s be honest, Carly cut his balls off with theprecision of a surgeon.”
Now that is a strong statement. Even though Mr. Lowry meant it – I think – in a figurative rather than literal sense, I have a feeling it made more than a few men wince at the thought.
Why did Lowry put it that way? Maybe because he has been the target of Trump\’s attacks and insults – though, if you\’re asking me, that is no great shakes, given that Trump, with skin thinner than the air on Mount Everest, attacks and insults just about everyone who criticizes him.
It certainly got show host Megyn Kelly\’s attention. Her reaction – with hand clasped to forehead – was “What did you just say? You can\’t say that!”
Well, yes he can, Megyn. And he did. Which, of course, caused Trump, who is as classic a “dish it out but can\’t take it” guy as you will ever come across, to demand an apology – one he won\’t be getting.
Rich Lowry wins Quote Of The Day honors for describing Fiorina\’s put-down of Donald Trump so bluntly, so accurately, and nearly giving Megyn Kelly (another Trump, er, favorite) an apoplexy in the process.
Who says cable news can\’t be fun?
