OBAMA\’S ISIS TEAM: ANONYMOUS, UNSUCCESSFUL … AND LEAVING

Ken Berwitz

Did you know we had an ISIS Czar?

Do you think that, if we do, he is doing much of a job?

Did you know he is leaving?

And so what if he is?

How\’s that for four questions?

Well, here\’s what I\’m talking about, courtesy of excerpts from Josh Rogin and Eli Lake\’s article at bloombergview.com:

President Barack Obama is about to lose the man hehand-picked to build the war effort against the Islamic State. Retired GeneralJohn Allen will be stepping down as envoy to the global coalition this fall, and the White House is searching for a replacement to be the face of America\’sflailing effort to destroy the jihadist group in Syria and Iraq.

The timing of Allen\’s departure could not be worse for theObama administration. The incoming Marine Corps Commandant, Lieutenant GeneralRobert Neller, testified last month that the war is ata “stalemate.” Last week, the head of the U.S. Central Command, General LloydAustin, testified that of the 54Syrian rebels trained and equipped by the U.S. military, only “4 or 5” werestill in the fight. And now the Pentagon is investigating allegations by dozens of intelligence analysts thattheir reporting on the progress in the war effort was altered before beinggiven to top officials.

The war is at a “stalemate”?  That suggests that neither side is gaining nor losing.  Do you – does anyone with an IQ above 36 – believe ISIS has stood still during the past year?

ISIS takes over territory, kills or enslaves – often for sexual purposes – anyone it wants, controls so much of Iraq and Syria that it has declared its own state, and is expanding in every direction.

That\’s a stalemate?  Do these people think we are complete idiots?  And do they think we would be surprised that the Pentagon, under Obama, is fudging the war\’s progress reports?

Losing John Allen is not the disaster here.  Having Barack Obama as President is.

And just like Allen\’s complete failure, Obama\’s complete failure is another reality our media won\’t be talking about any time soon.
