Yesterday, the House of Representatives voted on House Resolution 798.
The summary of this resolution is as follows:
Condemning the support of Hamas, Hezbollah, and other terrorist organizations at institutions of higher education, which may lead to the creation
of a hostile environment for Jewish students, faculty, and staff.
Hard to vote against that, right?
Wrong.
Yes, the resolution passed, and by plenty. But – incredibly – 23 house members voted against it.
One of them was Thomas Massie of Kentucky; a Republican who professes support for Israel but always seems to find a reason to vote against legislation that an Israel supporter would favor. Personally I think he’s full of crap.
As for the other 22? All of them Democrats.
Here are there names – a number of which I’m sure are very familiar to you:
-Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y.,
-Ilhan Omar, D-Minn.,
-Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass.,
-Summer Lee, D-Pa.,
-Jim McGovern, D-Mass.,
-Delia Ramirez, D-Ill.,
-Ritchie Torres, D-N.Y.,
-Nydia Velázquez, D-N.Y.,
-Maxine Waters, D-Calif.,
-Bonnie Watson Coleman, D-N.J.,
-Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich.,
-Lauren Underwood, D-Ill.,
-Mark Takano, D-Calif.,
-Jared Huffman, D-Calif.,
-Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash.,
-Jesus Garcia, D-Ill.,
-Jonathan Jackson, D-Ill.,
-Maxwell Frost, D-Fla.,
-André Carson, D-Ind.,
-Cori Bush, D-Mo.,
-Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y.,
-Earl Blumenauer, D-Ore.
What we have is a Democrat Anti-Semite Bloc. That is, a segment – a growing segment – of the Democrat Party that does not like Jews, and is not at all shy about demonstrating its anti-Semitism openly.
If you are a voter, Jewish or non-Jewish, who finds this sickening, disgusting and reprehensible, you have a decision to make.
If your House representative is one of the above 22,the decision is obviously clear.
But if even if your House Representative is not one of the above 22, you have to consider whether, by voting for her/him, you might be helping to put a Democrat majority in place…which would give a dramatically stronger voice, and considerable leverage, to the Democrat Anti-Semite Bloc shown above.
That’s something to think long and hard about between now and election day 2024.
