Today’s quote comes to us from CNN’s Senior Legal Analyst, Elie Honig. Read his comments, made this week, about how the DOJ has handled hunter biden’s free pass investigation, then we’ll talk.
“It’s really inexplicable to me. First, we had basically five years of behind-the-scenes investigation with no transparency, no action, and some questions being asked, what’s taken so long?
‘But in the last couple of months, we’ve seen a pattern here. … DOJ moves toward a very lenient disposition. They’re just about to lock in that lenient disposition, and then there arises pressure, either through whistleblower testimony or through public scrutiny and then DOJ backs off and says, ‘Actually, we’re not going to do that since it’s been called out. We’re gonna try to up it a little bit.’ Then that happened again.
‘And then, they go all the way to appointing a special counsel, the same guy who’s been presiding over the case for five-plus years already.
‘I genuinely am perplexed by what DOJ’s doing here.
‘I think they’ve made a real mess for themselves and now they’re going to have to deal with the consequences of it.”
Interesting.
What you just read is a dose of grudging, way-too-late curiosity/questioning about how the DOJ has handled the hunter biden scandal.
What you don’t see – at least not yet – is any mention whatsoever about the possible (probable?) connection of hunter biden’s actions, and reward$ for those actions, to Joe Biden’s ability to wield power and influence.
After years of ducking/suppressing/outright burying story after story about the “coincidental” timing of Joe Biden’s involvement in hunter biden’s “business” (which he has lied to our faces about repeatedly for years), the actions Joe Biden took as Vice President which benefited hunter’s “business”, and now, most recently, the revelations that over $20 million dollars in payments have been made to members of the Biden family, largely by LLC corporations seemingly set up for no reason other than to disburse that money to family members…
…could this be the start of CNN’s wildly belated attempt to regain some shred of journalistic credibility by reporting, to what viewers they have left, how malodorous the Biden stench might be?
I award Elie Honig Quote Of The Day honors for giving us a reason to hope that CNN is finally going to provide inquisitive journalism rather than partisan propaganda.
Me? While I remain skeptical, I hope for the network’s sake that this hope morphs into reality.
