Before Joe Biden took questions (from pre-determined questioners) at yesterday’s sad, scripted “press conference” he did an extended monologue on the COVID-19 pandemic, in which we were told, among other things, that everything Donald Trump did was wrong and Joe Biden would have done every one of those things better/more effectively.
Unfortunately for us (but not for Biden, since most media are not reporting it) his monologue contained lie after lie. Two of them were:
-Biden’s claim that President Trump wanted to get rid of ObamaCare, which would leave 22 million people without insurance.
A lie. Trump wants to REPLACE ObamaCare with what he and other Republicans consider a better alternative. We may agree or disagree on whether the replacement would be better, but the claim that Trump intended to leave ObamaCare subscribers high and dry is flat-out false.
-Biden’s claim that Trump said “Americans should inject disinfectants into their bodies.”
A lie. Trump, after noting the benefits of disinfectants for COVID-19, asked – ASKED – whether there was a way people could take in disinfectants. You can read his verbatim quote here. The claim that he said they should just inject disinfectants into the body is a lie that Biden and other Democrats have been telling since Trump asked that question and which most media have allowed to go unchallenged.
And then there was the premise that, unlike Trump, Joe Biden would have gotten everything right when dealing with the COVID-19 crisis. That had to be the biggest laugh – not even a lie, just a derisive laugh – of all.
Why do I say this? Well, let’s remember ObamaCare. Wasn’t Joe Biden the Vice President of the United States when that was dreamed up and implemented?
Forgetting for a moment that Obama and Biden told us we could keep our doctors, we could keep our insurance companies, and that the average family would save about $2,500 a year – every one of them bald-faced lies (just like the “shovel-ready” jobs their “stimulus package” was supposed to create that never materialized)…
…what about facilitating the ObamaCare website?
This was supposed to be a simple online way for people who wanted ObamaCare to enroll and start receiving it.
Instead, the website not only was a failure of epic proportion (you can read a partial detailing of just how bad it was in Jack Gillum’s article for the Assocated Press …
…but – please be sitting down before continuing to read – the cost of putting together this astoundingly inept failure of a website was, depending on which report you read, between $1.7 and 2.1 billion dollars.
Read that again, folks. I didn’t say million, as in $1,700,000 – $2,100,000. I said BILLION, as in $1,700,000,000 – $2,100,000,000.
Now, think of that complete failure of a website, think of the cost of a single website running to an unthinkably obscene $1.7-$2.1 billion dollars…
…and try to reconcile it with Joe Biden, 10 years later, 10 years older, and dealing with obvious cognitive issues, being in charge of handling the COVID-19 crisis.
If that doesn’t make you shudder at the thought of a Biden presidency, I don’t know what would.
