THE BRIAN WILLIAMS OUSTER SHOW: PART ONE

NBC apparently is starting a new show. Which I expect will be a mini series.

Excerpted from David Bauder\’s article for the Associated Press:

NBCNews has assigned the head of its own investigative unit to look intostatements that anchor Brian Williams made about his reporting inIraq a dozen years ago, an episode that\’s ballooned into a full-blowncredibility crisis for the network.

NBCNews President Deborah Turness announced the probe in an internalmemo on Friday. Williams has apologized for falsely saying on the airthat he was in a helicopter hit by a rocket-propelled grenade whilein Iraq in 2003, and Turness said Friday the anchor expressed hisregrets to his colleagues for the impact the episode has had.

“Asyou would expect, we have a team dedicated to gathering the facts tohelp us make sense of all that has transpired,” Turness wrote.”We\’re working on what the best next steps are.”

Questionswere also raised about statements Williams made on coverage ofHurricane Katrina, which was one of his proudest moments at NBC.

Yep, they\’re looking into it.  As if they didn\’t know already.

This is part one of a show;  one which you, me, NBC, and, I am certain, Brian Williams, already know the ending to.

The Brian Williams Ouster Show.

Don\’t expect it to be renewed.
