From Ryan Grim’s article for theintercept.com:we have this transcript, from the August 11, 1993 Larry King Show:
KING: San Luis Obispo, California, hello.
CALLER: Yes, hello. I’m wondering what a staffer would do besides go to the press in Washington? My daughter has just left there, after working for a prominent senator, and could not get through with her problems at all, and the only thing she could have done was go to the press, and she chose not to do it out of respect for him.
KING: In other words, she had a story to tell but, out of respect for the person she worked for, she didn’t tell it?
CALLER: That’s true.
There is no mention of names. There is no mention of what the daughter’s “problems” were.
But Tara Reade has said she told her mother about the molestation. And this is exactly within the time frame she says the molestation took place. And Ms. Reade affirms that is her mother’s voice on the phone…
…which puts it head and shoulders above Christine Blasey Ford’s claims of sexual molestation by then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. To refresh your memory, Ford could not say when the molestation occurred, where it occurred, how she got to the place it occurred, how she got home from the place it occurred, and not one of the three people she cited to corroborate her claim said they had any recollection of what she was talking about.
So, NOW will mainstream media stop ignoring Tara Reade’s claims that she was molested by Biden and give her even a small fraction of the attention Christine Blasey Ford got with her 100% unsubstantiated claims of being molested by Brett Kavanaugh?
NOW will the “women’s groups” who have demanded that Ford – and all women who accuse men of sexual impropriety be believed – take up Ms. Reade’s accusations?
The answer, almost certainly is no, they will not.
Not the media, not the women’s groups.
Why? Draw your own conclusions.
