Apropos of nothing political:
We spent yesterday with our older son and his family. Part of it was a really enjoyable birthday party for our grandson, and then the late afternoon and well into the evening at their home.
Anyway, I was sitting with our transcendentally beautiful 5 year old granddaughter, watching one of the shows she likes (which was tolerable only because she sat with me and let me occasionally put my arm around her and give her a kiss.) My wife came into the room and told me that I made some kind of mistake – I don\’t even remember what about. And, as she left, I quietly muttered, under my breath, not for her to hear, “just let me know if I do anything right”…
…at which point our granddaughter – without a smirk, or look of triumph, but with complete equanimity – said “you don\’t do anything right”, as she continued to watch her TV show. Her eyes never left the screen.
And as I desperately tried not to bust out laughing, it occurred to me that if this is what she is capable of at age 5…….
You can finish that sentence yourself.
Ok, back to politics, where people acting like 5 year olds and not doing anything right is standard operating procedure.
