As you no doubt are aware, terrorists attacked the Paris offices of Charlie Hedbo, an irreverent French magazine which has posted cartoons which disdained the Islamic prophet Muhammad. As they killed 12 people and injured 11 others (that\’s the latest count, and could, of course change), they screamed “Allahu Akbar” (God is great), and “The prophet has been avenged”.
With that in mind, I would like to end this blog by posting two statements.
The first is from President Obama:
“Istrongly condemn the horrific shooting at the offices of CharlieHebdo magazine in Paris that has reportedly killed 12 people. Ourthoughts and prayers are with the victims of this terrorist attackand the people of France at this difficult time. France is America\’soldest ally, and has stood shoulder to shoulder with the UnitedStates in the fight against terrorists who threaten our sharedsecurity and the world. Time and again, the French people have stoodup for the universal values that generations of our people havedefended. France, and the great city of Paris where this outrageousattack took place, offer the world a timeless example that willendure well beyond the hateful vision of these killers. We are intouch with French officials and I have directed my Administration toprovide any assistance needed to help bring these terrorists tojustice.”
The second is from Andy McCarthy – who, as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, Prosecuted sheik omar abdel rahman, the “mastermind” of the first (1993) World Trade Center bombing. It is from his email to Jerome Corsi of World Net Daily:
“Themedia have adopted the absurd Obama reasoning that a) terrorism isunrelated to Islam, b) groups that happen to self-identify as Muslimsare \’violent extremists\’ who do not represent the true Islam(that\’s why we can no longer call them \’jihadists\’); and c)only violent extremists commit terrorism.
“Therefore,d) when an atrocity happens, we must not call it \’terrorism\’unless and until it has been linked to a \’violent extremist\’group we have recognized as such (e.g., al Qaeda, ISIS). Consequently, (e) if we cannot link it to a violentextremist group, we deny that the act is terror and refer to it as\’workplace violence,\’ \’lone-wolf attack,\’ \’militantextremism\’ (as long as we\’re careful to avoid saying what they\’rebeing extreme about).”
What does this tell you? More specifically, what is missing from Mr. Obama\’s description of the terrorists?
Think about it.
