It is Sunday, December 28th. Three days before the term of Criminal Court Judge laura johnson will expire.
As readers of this blog know, johnson is the judge who, just last week, released these two defendants without bail:
-devon coley, an 18 year old “model citizen\’ who, while already facing charges for assault and gun possession, is accused of making a terrorist threat related to shooting police officers in their car, a la ismaaiyl brinsley;
-travis maye, another wonderful role model, who was accused to assaulting police – during the course of which he allegedly punched one officer in the eye and sent him to the hospital – and who also threatened other cops by telling them he would find out where they live and they would die.
Two police officers dead; not even in the ground yet. And this nitwit puts these cop-threatening thugs back on the street without so much as one dollar\’s bail?
johnson has been on the bench for little more than a year. She was appointed by Mayor Bloomberg, who I would like to think rues the day he did so.
But there is good news. Her term expires on December 31. Therefore Mayor de blasio can either reappoint her or cut her loose.
However – this would be hard to believe if it weren\’t someone with de blasio\’s apparent attitude toward cops – he says he has not yet decided one way or the other. He has the johnson re-appointment “under consideration”.
Tell me: what the eff does it take for him to get rid of her? Releasing someone who firebombs a police station?
I will make sure to report on whether Johnson is reappointed as soon as I know one way or the other.
Meanwhile, I will end this blog the way I did in my last blog about her:
I wish harm on no one. Let me say that again: I wish harm on no one.
But if devon coley, whose freedom to ply his apparent trade is 100% due to judge laura johnson, strikes again – or travis maye, who told the cops he would “find out where you live” and that “you will die” – decides to attack a civilian, I hope the victim is johnson herself. She is the one who put these “men” on the street, thus endangering the decent people of New York City. If it has to happen to someone, let that someone be her.
