Think this blog is going to be about Republicans? Think again.
Given all the BS thrown about how the Koch brothers, and Karl Rove\’s PAC, and all those money-laden Republicans were trying to buy the 2014 midterm elections at the expense of poor, downtrodden Democrats – by liars like Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and the MSNBC crowd (among many others) – I don\’t blame you for being fooled.
But, with great credit to Philip Elliott of the Associated Press for his honest reporting, here is a desperately needed reality check:
Amongthe top 100 individual donors to political groups, more than halfgave primarily to Democrats or their allies. Among groups thatfunneled more than $100,000 to allies, the top of the list tiltedoverwhelmingly toward Democrats – a group favoring the GOP doesn\’tappear on the list until No. 14.
Thetwo biggest super PACs of 2014? Senate Majority PAC and HouseMajority PAC – both backing Democrats.
Inall, the top 10 individual donors to outside groups injected almost$128 million into this year\’s elections. Democratic-leaning groupscollected $91 million of it.
Amongthe 183 groups that wrote checks of $100,000 or more to anothergroup, Democrats had a 3-to-1 cash advantage. The biggest player wasthe National Education Association, at $22 million. Not a singleRepublican-leaning group cracked the top 10 list of thosetransferring money to others.
Surprised at where the big money came from and where it went? Maybe even amazed?
Again, I can\’t say that I blame you. The lies have been tossed around for so long by so many Democrats, with so much complicity by their Accomplice Media, that the concept of rich Republicans funding their parties while working class Democrats have to scratch out a few dollars at a time to try and be competitive has become a truism. A false truism, but a truism nonetheless.
Somewhere in hell, hitler\’s minister of propaganda, joseph Goebbels, is smiling from ear to ear.
And while I certainly don\’t accuse Reid, Pelosi and the others of being nazis, I certainly do accuse them of telling a big lie over and over again, until far too many people believe it.
How proud they must be.
