The estimable Paul Mirengoff, writing for powerlineblog.com, has put out a blog detailing who he thinks 2014\’s biggest winners and biggest losers are:
Duringthe next few days, pundits will be designating their “winners andlosers” of 2014. There can be little doubt about the year\’s twobiggest winners. Clearly, they are Bashar al-Assad and ISIS. Thirdplace goes to Iran, which finds itself in greatly improved economicshape and within striking distance of becoming a nuclear power.
Who,then, is the biggest loser of 2014? Not Barack Obama. From all thatappears, he cares practically nothing about the successes of Assadand Iran (a close ally, by the way, of the Syrian dictator), andlittle about the rise of ISIS. His interest is in the radicaltransformation of the United States. In 2014 he doubled-down onadvancing that interest through administrative fiat.
Thelosers are ordinary Iraqis and Syrians, and also U.S. strategicinterests.
Mr. Mirengoff makes excellent points to support his selections. I strongly urge you to use the link I\’ve provided and read them.
Then join me in counting the seconds until January 20, 2017, when the Obama nightmare will finally be over.
