For four months (since the shooting and killing of Michael Brown and, subsequently, the death of Eric Garner) the race hustlers and the hard left have been given virtually unchallenged latitude in spewing their hatred against the police – not just the police involved in these two incidents (who mixed-race grand juries refused to indict), but all police.
As they looted, rioted, disrupted, and chanted their demands that cops die, where was the condemnation by President Obama? By New York Mayor bill de blasio? By the so-called Black “leaders”, who were perfectly happy to exploit the deaths of Brown and Garner every way they could? By the “occupy”- quality hard leftists who could not find a reason to disassociate themselves from the death chants?
Nowhere.
Now we have two dead New York Police Officers, who were executed while doing nothing but sitting in their police car, by a violent thug whose social media posts made it 100% clear he was reacting to what he saw and heard from these people. And maybe a third as well – a former NY cop killed in Tampa, Florida.
Toyota used to advertise their cars with the slogan “You asked for it, you got it”. That slogan fits these tragic deaths perfectly.
So, now, the same race hustlers and hard leftists who had no problem with the hatred and threats against police, joined by the same weaselly politicians, are scrambling to show how sorry they are that it happened.
I doubt that anyone believes them: not their supporters, and certainly not the police.
The police, and a great many people, of all colors, who value police service, will never forgive Mayor de blasio. His sympathy with the protesters and enmity toward the police has been manifest throughout this period. There is nothing he can do to change this. Not after the horrific execution-style death of two officers whose only crime was wearing police uniforms.
As for the race hustlers – al sharpton immediately jumps to the front of the pack.
This is another episode of death and devastation in sharpton\’s wake, that he will attempt to walk away from saying “Hey, I didn\’t tell them to do that”. And which, if history is any indicator, a craven media less interested in the consequences of sharpton\’s rhetoric than they are to pass along his next clever sound bite, will happily allow to happen.
Want an example? Then do yourself a favor and read about the 8 dead victims – all of them minorities, by the way – at Freddy\’s Fashion Mart in Harlem, after sharpton\’s inflammatory hate-filled, racist venom pushed one of his followers far enough over the line to torch the place and kill 8 people (ironically, all of them minorities).
Read about the overt hatred directed against Whites and very especially Jews – that was spewed before Freddy\’s was burned to the ground. read the comments made by sharpton and by his followers….without a word of condemnation by him….that inflamed them – such as this one, made during a rally that was broadcast on Black-oriented radio stations:
“Iwant to make it clear to the radio audience and to you here that wewill not stand by and allow them to move this brother so that somewhite interloper can expand his business on 125th Street.”
The fact that a rent increase for “the brother”, who sub-let space from Freddy\’s, occurred because Freddy\’s rent was increased by the building owner – a Black church – and the fact that this “White interloper” had been in business there for 40 years? Meaningless to a hater and baiter like al Sharpton.
That is the real sharpton. Not the sanitized, BS version he is now selling to an ever-eager media.
As for the future? It is true that some seemingly insurmountable situations are, in fact surmountable. Time heals wounds. People say the right words and smooth things out.
But this is not one of them. What happened to these officers is inexcusable. Unfixable.
Race hustlers like sharpton (among others) and politicians like de blasio who, by looking the other way, abetted – even encouraged – the sick hatred that culminated in these deaths, will never be forgiven.
Nor should they be.
And Democrats, lamentably including the President of the United States, who have elevated sharpton to kingmaker status? They have every reason in the world to be ashamed beyond words of their association with this “man”.
But I would bet money they will never show it.
