Today\’s paragraph comes to us from Hans von Spakovsky\’s article at dailysignal.com, in which he makes mincemeat of the claims that the kind of amnesty President Obama is about to foist on us for millions of illegal aliens is nothing different than what President\’s Reagan and Bush did.
Please use this link to read Mr. von Spakovsky\’s entire article, in which he shows chapter and verse of how different they are. But, in the meanwhile, here is its key paragraph:
Inshort, while Reagan and Bush worked closely with Congress toimplement the comprehensive legislation that Congress had passed (inthe case of Reagan) or would pass shortly thereafter (in the case ofBush), Obama is bypassing Congress entirely. He is unconstitutionallyrevising existing law and, without congressional approval, imposingnew ones that have been explicitly rejected by Congress timeand time again, thereby setting himself up as a kingmaker (or king)on immigration policy.
President Obama\’s Accomplice Media will, no doubt, continue to pretend that he is breaking no new constitutional ground. They, no doubt, will continue to downplay Mr. Obama\’s own words, spoken again and again, that what he is about to do is unconstitutional; that it is outside his legal authority.
After all, that\’s what paid propagandists do.
I award Hans von Spakovsky Paragraph Of The Day honors for showing them up for what they are.
