I have a question for the folks (and, under other circumstances, I would be one of them) who are touting the idea of both political parties working together for the next two years:
Given that President Obama has spent 6 years ignoring Republicans…with copious help from his chief henchman, current (and soon to be former) Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who has sat on literally hundreds of bills passed by the Republican-majority House of Representatives and not allowed them to go to a floor vote…
…and given the number of executive orders used by President Obama – not for inconsequential things, but for major issues, so that his diktat would not be scrutinized in congress…
…and given that, in the two months before Republicans take control of both houses of congress he has already cut an economically disastrous “climate change” deal with China, in which we jump through regulatory hoops while they do nothing for 16 years, and then we\’re supposed to believe they will hold to their promises…
…and is about to unilaterally declare some kind of blanket amnesty for millions and millions of illegal aliens, which exit polling shows about 80% of the country is against….
and is doing so with virtually no opposition – if any at all – from members of his own party…
….what basis do you have for believing that President Obama, and his fellow Democrats, are in any way sincere about working together with Republicans?
