MEDIA BIAS? NAAAAHHHH

Last week I blogged, derisively, about the fact that CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley had not reported its own CBS/NY Times poll data, which showed the Democrat Party in terrible shape as we head toward the midterm elections.

Well, they ain\’t the only ones.

The latest ABC News/Washington Post poll came out today.  And it is borderline disastrous for Democrats:

-President Obama, who made a special point of telling us this election is about his policies, stands (maybe sits is a more appropriate word) at 40% approval – the lowest he has ever been in this poll;

-Independents, the “swing voters” who very often determine which way elections go, give Mr. Obama an approval rating of only 33%;

-Democrats, as a party, are at 39% approval.  Not only is this a 30 year low for Democrats, but it puts them within 6% of Republicans, whom they usually dominate on the party-approval measure;

-And, among likely voters, Republicans hold a 50% – 43% lead in which party\’s house members voters say they will be supporting – with independents favoring Republicans by a huge 51% – 32%.

Now that\’s pretty big news.  So ABC\’s Good Morning America (GMA) show, of course, did a major feature on it, right?

Uh…..wrong.

According to of Jeffrey Meyers\’ piece at newsbusters.org, GMA gave it all of 17 seconds…….while doing a 58 second story about how much Michelle Obama likes turnips (I swear, that\’s what it says happened).

Let\’s see:  two stories:  one about a disastrous poll for Democrats – ABC\’s own poll – taken less than three weeks before the election, and the other about Michelle Obama\’s recommendation that we eat more turnips:  which gets more coverage?

Why, Michelle Obama\’s turnips, of course.

Media bias?

Naaaahhhh
