Though we won\’t know for sure until later today, the vote to determine whether Scotland will stay part of the United Kingdom or become an independent country appears to be very close.
It would be difficult to overstate the importance of this vote – which could literally create a war between Scotland and the rest of the UK over who gets what and for how much – and maybe a civil war in Scotland to boot, between people who want to break way and people who suddenly are told, against their will, that they live in a different country.
Regardless of how it winds up, the ramifications of this secession vote will change the UK forever.
