Someone must have forgotten to lock the closet after feeding time.
Because Vice President Joe Biden, somehow, got out. And here is what he managed to “accomplish” in just one day, as excerpted from Sean Sullivan\’s article in the Washington Post:
Afterleaving a rally in Des Moines, Biden unexpectedly made news at adiner when he seemingly opened the door to committing ground troopsto fight the Islamic State in Iraq, an option the Obamaadministration has diligently batted down as it has moved to expandair strikes in the region — and that President Obama himselfrejected anew in remarks at MacDill Air Force Base Wednesday. “TheAmerican forces that have been deployed to Iraq do not and will nothave a combat mission,” he said.
Areporter asked Biden whether he agreed with the comments of ArmyGen. Martin Dempsey, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, whoon Tuesday leftthe door open to the possibility of boots on the ground. “Hesaid that if in fact he concluded that was needed he would request itfrom the president. His conclusion is that it is not needed now,”Biden responded

But might it be needed? “We\’ll determine that based on how the effort goes,” said Biden.
At the rally, Biden delivered an enthusiastic speech brimming with populist notes. But his message was overshadowed by his story of a meeting he had with Lee Kuan Yew, the former prime minister of Singapore. The story was meant as a compliment.
“On the way back from Mumbai to go meet with President Xi in China, I stopped in Singapore to meet with a guy named Lee Kuan Yew, who most foreign policy experts around the world say is the wisest man in the Orient,” explained Biden in his remarks at a kick-off rally for the Nuns on the Bus “We the People, We the Voters” bus tour.
Biden\’suse of the word “Orient” was widely mentioned on socialmedia. Some quickly denounced it.
“VicePresident Joe Biden\’s insensitive remarks are offensive to bothAsian-Americans and our Asian allies abroad,” said NinioFetalvo, the Republican National Committee Asian American and PacificIslander spokesman, in a statement. “His comment is not onlydisrespectful but also uses unacceptable imperialist undertones.”Fetalvo called on Biden to apologize.
Hoursearlier, Biden had walkedback his use of the word “Shylocks” in a Tuesdayspeech, after the head of a major Jewish organization criticized himfor it.
I can almost hear the screams from President Obama\’s strategy room:
“Who left the closet unlocked? I want that effing idiot fired. NOW! We managed to keep Biden stuffed away for almost the entire campaign season, and look what happened when he got out. In JUST ONE DAY! From now on three people are on BCD (Biden Closet Detail), not just one. And, for God sake, NO SUGAR IN HIS COFFEE!”
Me? I hope he escapes again.
Not for nothing do I call him Jackass Joe. And I certainly never said it wasn\’t entertaining to hear him in action.
