KERRY’S ASTONISHING QUOTE

You better be sitting down for this one.

Today, while speaking before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Secretary Of State John Kerry decided to tell that body why he condemned the letter 47 Republican Senators signed informing Iran that, without congressional approval, any deal it makes with President Obama is nothing more than an executive order a future President can revoke at will (which, whether you like the fact that this letter was sent or not, happens to be true).

Here are Kerry’s actual words:

“We have been clear from the beginning, we are not negotiating, a quote, legally binding plan, we are negotiating a plan that will have in it capacity for enforcement.  The letter erroneously asserts this is a legally binding plan. It is not. We don’t even have diplomatic relations with Iran.”

Yes, he really said that.

Let’s compare:

-The letter called the plan an executive agreement, and said, without congressional ratification as a treaty, it can be revoked by a President, even the current one, at any time in the future.

– Kerry, in an effort to attack Republicans for signing the letter, told the committee, thus Iran as well, that there was nothing legally binding about the plan at all.  He said we are negotiating a plan that can be enforced, but has no legal basis. Which, therefore, means it has no standing and, without congressional ratification as a treaty, can be revoked by a President, even the current one, at any time in the future.

Helluva difference.  Like….none.

This was Kerry’s argument against the letter?  This was the point he was making?

Less than two years to go until this nightmare administration is history.  I count the seconds.
