THE QUOTE OF THE DAY

Today’s quote comes to us from Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), Chairperson of the House Judiciary Committee, who apparently has recovered enough from his medical event (probably dehydration) to regain his status as one of the most ridiculous partisan hacks in the House of Representatives.

Here, believe it or not, is what Mr. Nadler has to say about the prospect of robert mueller testifying before congress, and mueller’s request that his testimony be private:

“He doesn’t want to be public in what some people will regard as a political spectacle, I think.

“He’s willing to make an opening statement, but he wants to testify in private.  We think it’s important for the American people to hear from him and to hear his answers to questions about the report.

“He envisions himself correctly as a man of great rectitude and apolitical and he doesn’t want to participate in anything that he might regard as a political spectacle, especially if Republicans on the committee start asking him questions about the beginning of the — about this stuff, the beginning of the investigation.”

Remember those puzzles, where you had to find things hidden in a picture (e.g. six frogs, two birds, etc.)?  Nadler’s comments are like a verbal version of one of them.

A partial list:

-So what if mueller doesn’t want to be part of a political spectacle?  Anything anyone says about his investigation in this committee is inherently a “political spectacle”.  Why is this an issue, other than mueller – and Nadler – not wanting us to hear what he has to say?

-Why should we care if mueller wants to hide his testimony from the public.  The public has a right to know:  a fact that Nadler had no problem remembering when it was Attorney General Barr testifying;

-“He’s willing to make an opening statement, but he wants to testify in private” and “We think it’s important for the American people to hear from him and to hear his answers to questions about the report” are contradictions in terms.  If Nadler honestly thinks it’s important for the American people to hear mueller’s testimony why isn’t he insisting it all be public, not just the opening statement (my apologies for suggesting the possibility that Jerrold Nadler might talk honestly)?

-mueller has “great rectitude”?  He’s “apolitical”?  Then how come he selected an all-Democrat staff for this investigation, with the 16 original staff members comprised of 13 Democrats, 3 unaffiliated and 0 Republicans — including several Democrats who specifically donated to the Hillary Clinton campaign?  Nadler is so full of crap his eyes are brown.

-And yes, OF COURSE Republicans are going to ask him about the beginning of the investigation.  If Nadler were running anything other than a partisan hackery show, he’d be asking the same questions.

I award Jerrold Nadler Quote Of The Day “honors” for pulling ahead (at least temporarily) of Adam Schiff, as the most ridiculous, dishonest partisan hack in the House of Representatives.
