It has been a while since I posted a “Chrazy Chris” Matthews blog – or, for that matter, a “Jackass Joe” blog for Vice President Biden (though, in fairness, it is harder to do so these days because Obama & Co. have hidden Biden so far in the attic even the bats can\’t find him).
What has Matthews done that is so chrazy I am putting up an other installment? I\’ll let him tell you in his own words.
Here is Matthews, during the “Andrea Mitchell Reports” show today on (where else?) MSNBC, talking about how the United States in general, and George Bush in particular, were such great pals of ISIS that, instead of threatening us, it should be thanking us.
I have a feeling that, reading the above description, you don\’t even need the quote to understand why I\’m posting about Matthews. But here it is anyway:
“Whatdid we do against ISIS except allow them to exist by breaking up theIraqi government under George W. Bush? Wecreated their opportunity. How are we their enemy? I don\’t get it.What did we do to them, to ISIS?…wait a minute, we helped knock off Gaddafi, we took a pretty strongstand against Syria, we knocked off Saddam Hussein. We knocked off all the secular leaders. Why aren\’tthe Islamists happy with us? Factually,we did their work for them. We pulledthe rug out from under all these people who were secularists so thatthese Islamists could grab those countries. What\’s the knock,what\’s the knock on us?”
Sometimes I wonder if Chris Matthews is an experiment by God to find out how much dense and obtuse mung can come out of one man in one burst of blather.
Let\’s start with the obvious, Chris: the USA is a western, primarily Christian nation. Do you think ISIS finds this endearing?
Next, let\’s note that, in every case, it was our western, primarily Christian nation trying (and succeeding, at least until Barack Obama fouled things up) in changing the way Muslim countries were being run. Do you think ISIS sends S.W.A.K. love letters for that?
And then there is the fact that the actions we took in Iraq, Libya and to a lesser degree Syria (also Afghanistan – you left out a biggie, Chris), regardless of their individual levels of success, were not to replace secular leaders with ISIS muslims, they were to replace secular mass murderers with democracies. You might want to catch up on the fact that ISIS wishes death on everyone who is not an ISIS muslim. Honest, it has been in all the papers.
Personally, I doubt most people would find it confusing that ISIS does not like the United States. But you, Chris? Your inability to understand what is foursquare – maybe even eightsquare or twelvesquare – in front of your eyes, remains unaffected by facts or logic. If nothing else, I suppose I should congratulate you on your purity. After all, pure BS is pure too.
Not for nothing do I call him Chrazy Chris.
