THE RACISM CHARGES AGAINST TRUMP

In the previous blog, I pointed out that Donald Trump is now being accused, daily, of racism.  We’re not talking about anti-Muslim or anti-Mexican sentiment, but racism that is being “sold” by protesters/disrupters, many of them Black, doing everything they can to etch this premise into people’s minds, as they do their best to prevent Trump from speaking at his rallies.

I asked anyone at all to provide a basis for calling Trump an anti-Black racist.  Since I don’t know of any instances where he has spoken against Black people, I doubt I will get a valid response.

So I now have to ask a different question: if charges of racism are being leveled against Donald Trump, based on nothing he has said or done, who is leveling them?  Who has something to gain if it sticks?

And what quickly comes to mind is that Hillary Clinton, while having no problem getting a huge percentage of the Black vote, is not generating a lot of enthusiasm among Black voters, which translates into lower turnout on election day.

A number of articles have been written about the likelihood of lower minority turnout and what its consequences are for Ms. Clinton – quite a few of them.  Here’s just one example, from Nicholas Confessore’s analysis for the New York Times:

The falloff in Democratic primary turnout – which often reveals whether a candidate is exciting voters and attracting them to the polls – reached deep into some of the core groups of voters Mrs. Clinton must not only win in November, but turn out in large numbers. It stands in sharp contrast to the flood of energized new voters showing up at the polls to vote for Donald J. Trump in the Republican contest.

Some Democrats now worry that Mrs. Clinton will have difficulty matching the surge in new black, Hispanic and young voters who came to the polls for President Obama in 2008 and 2012.

Without massive Black turnout, Hillary Clinton could lose to Donald Trump.

Does this mean that Hillary Clinton’s people, with the approval and support of Ms. Clinton herself, are behind this Trump-is-a-racist concoction?

I do not know one way or the other.

But I do know that if it sufficiently mobilizes Black voters to go to the polls, it will be Hillary Clinton who benefits.  So you’ll pardon me if I suspect.

  • The left believes the whole Republican party is racist. That is why they spell it Republikkkan when they refer to it.
