THE PARAGRAPHS OF THE DAY

Today’s paragraphs come from the latest commentary by Toure Neblett – whose ego causes him to go by only his first name, (you’re supposed to know who “Toure is, like a household word, see?), the hard-left, race-obsessed former commentator at (where else?) MSNBC.

This is what Mr. Neblett thinks of Donald Trump:

We should just call it what it is: Donald Trump is the leader of the White Lives Matter movement. Someone had to start it – they were gettin’ out of control. First, one of them became president and now they’re in the streets protesting every time a Black thug gets shot. They’re gettin’ a little too free.

Then Trump arrived like white supremacy’s version of Santa Claus with a bag full of gifts. He gave them swagger. He gave them unadulterated machismo – Trump is the most macho presidential contender ever. And Trumpy KKKlaus reminded them that a white man who employs good ol’ fashioned white toughness is unstoppable. And everywhere he looks there’s someone to fight. In Trump’s mind, everything in society is aligned against white men – Washington, Mexico, China, Democrats, Black Lives Matter, everything; it’s a total disaster. So little time, so many asses to kick. Entitlement is a powerful drug and Trump’s a big-time dealer.

We should have seen Trump coming. We should have known that decades of Republican race baiting – from the Southern Strategy to welfare queens to self-deportation – and decades of the GOP welcoming racists in their tent would eventually lead to “Make America White Again.” We should have known that the browning of America and the growing inclusivity of America was not going to be taken lying down. Many people see all of that as code for the decline of white people. And to some, any advance by Black and brown people is a loss for whites.

Ever see more whining, and less logic, in three paragraphs?  You’d have to go some to find it, which is why Mr. Nebless wins Paragraphs Of The Day “honors”.

Let’s start with the fact that this supposed defender of equality capitalizes “Black” but not “White” (the only time White is capitalized is when it is part of a title, where every word is capitalized).  This is who lectures us about racism?

Then there is the fact that, despite the snarky attacks Neblett repeatedly makes about Donald Trump’s supposed racism, there is not one specific example of anything he said about Black people.  Zero. Zip.  Nada.  Nothing.  Do you doubt that he would have put them up if he could have found any?

I especially am fascinated  by the inclusion of “self-deportation” in his list of “Republican race baiting”.  Self-deportation was floated by Mitt Romney in 2012, and specifically related to Mexicans who were in the United States illegally.  Are Mexican illegals a race?  Are they Black?  Help me out here.

There’s more, but I assume you get the idea.

This is precisely the kind of mind set that passes in some (thankfully not all) quarters as intelligent racial discourse.

How sad that is.
