Today’s quote comes to us from Rep. Mark Meadows (R-SC). It refers to the intentional, unconscionable, and (to me) clearly politically motivated foot-dragging by Deputy Attorney General rod rosenstein, in handing over documents relative to the Mueller investigation which have been requested by congress:
“Rod Rosenstein can call Michael Horowitz, who has the documents, and say just give them to Congress. If he doesn’t do that … there is a growing consensus of holding them in contempt of Congress, but it’s not enough to stop there. We have to have someone willing to do the job. If the deputy attorney general is not willing to do it and not willing to allow us to have our Constitutional Oversight Authority supported, then we’ll find someone who can.”
I award Mark Meadows Quote Of The Day honors for saying exactly what should be said about this obvious, deep-stater, and making exactly the threat that should have been made months ago – when it became clear he was intentionally holding these documents back.
What does it tell you about the content of these documents, if one side is demanding they be made available and the other side is zealously preventing their availability? Whose side is the zealot on?
I hope Rep. Meadows is quickly successful in his quest to finally get the material congress has demanded. And I hope the next item on the agenda is the removal of rod rosenstein.
