Yesterday, the Wisconsin Supreme Court:
-Upheld the “MTI Act 10” decision, which retained, but limited, unions\’ collective bargain rights. This was Governor Scott Walker\’s legislation, which resulted in that incredible series of raucous sometimes-violent protests by unions and their supporters (both from in and out of Wisconsin),, civil disobedience, a group of Democrat politicians going into hiding out-of-state in an effort to prevent a vote on the issue, and even a recall election (which Governor Walker won decisively);
-Upheld the state\’s voter ID requirement (though it is still on hold due to a federal judge\’s ruling);
-And upheld the state giving benefits to same-sex marriage partners (the state\’s ban on same-sex marriage was overturned this past week, though not by the supreme court).
All in all, one helluva good day\’s work. Congratulations to the majority.
