“HUMANITARIAN TRUCE”: HAMAS-STYLE

In case you are wondering how hamas views a short (all of 5 hours) “humanitarian truce”, we have this, from an article at CNN:

Gaza City (CNN) — At least three mortars were fired from Gaza intosouthern Israel on Thursday morning, some two hours after a temporary lull inhostilities went into effect to allow humanitarian supplies into the area.

The mortars fell in open areas and no injuries were immediatelyreported, the Israeli military said. Mortars are smaller and have a morelimited range than rockets.

Israel, which said it would honor the cease-fire but not sit idleif attacked, did not immediately respond.

As you may be aware, hamas is comprised of those nice folks who cry over their dead civilians for the cameras — after telling them to ignore Israeli warnings about where attacks are going to take place, and stay right where they are anyway.  Can you name another country – today, or in history – that ever issued such warnings?  Neither can I.

So we see – again – that hamas has exactly no interest in peace, or in any letup to hostilities.  Not even for five hours, so that its citizenry can walk the streets, get food and other supplies, and breathe a little fresh air.

Quite the humanitarians.

If history is any indicator, hamas will continue firing at Israel until it runs out of missiles, mortars, etc, – which are fired from locations guaranteed to yield civilian casualties. which are then used for propaganda purposes to a willing international media.  Then, when it runs out, hamas will “agree to a truce”…which will last until it re-arms.

And, despite all this, most of the international community will, of course, make Israel the villain – very much including the United States of America under Barack Obama.

I guess that\’s “humanitarian” too.
