This one is for the people – and there are legions of them – who still believe that “anthropomorphic (man-made) global warming” is settled science.
Excerpted from James Taylor\’s article at Forbes:
TheNational Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration\’s most accurate,up-to-date temperature data confirm the United States has beencooling for at least the past decade. The NOAA temperature data aredriving a stake through the heart of alarmists claiming acceleratingglobal warming.
NOAAestablished a network of 114 pristinely sited temperaturestations spread out fairly uniformly throughout the United States.Because the network, known as the U.S. Climate Reference Network(USCRN), is so uniformly and pristinely situated, the temperaturedata require no adjustments to provide an accurate nationwidetemperature record. USCRN began compiling temperature data in January2005. Now, nearly a decade later, NOAA has finally made the USCRNtemperature readings available.
Accordingto the USCRN temperature readings, U.S. temperatures are not risingat all – at least not since the network became operational 10 yearsago. Instead, theUnited States has cooled by approximately 0.4 degrees Celsius, which is more than half of the claimed global warming of thetwentieth century.
Does the latest ten-year period definitively prove that “global warming” – whether man-made or not, is non-existent? Of course not.
But it sure as hell doesn\’t prove that “global warming” does exist, does it? And it sure as hell doesn\’t indicate that global warming is settled science, does it?
Look, I\’m no expert on this subject and I do not know if, or why, climate is changing differently from what would have happened without human involvement. But, based on these data – among many other reasons, some of which have already been discussed in this blog – I conclude that it is in doubt.
And, if it is in doubt, maybe our mainstream media might pay a bit more attention to the significant number of scientists who are not believers in the global warming mantra – and treat them with a bit more respect and a bit less dismissiveness?
It\’s called neutral journalism……
