In a horrible gaffe, the White House accidentally leaked the name of our top spy in Afghanistan (AKA our “Chief Of Station”) to the entire press pool – all 6,000 of them.
As immense a mistake as this was, I have to believe it was unintentional – 100% an error. And unintentional errors happen.
I assume that the person in question has been spirited out, is safe…and has been replaced already.
Whatever I might think of the Obama presidency in other areas, I will not criticize him or his people for this. I will assume that the person or persons who made such a major mistake are no longer in a position to do so and that it is not going to happen again.
