I’m happy to say that, tonight, politics is taking second seat to minor league baseball.
I’m with my friends at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood New Jersey, to see the Lakewood Blueclaws play the Columbia South Carolina Fireflies.
Aside from the general enjoyment of minor league baseball, Tim Tebow happens to be a member of the Fireflies team.
I’ll let you know if anything of interest happens tomorrow morning.
Go Blueclaws!
=============================
UPDATE: Unfortunately the Columbia Fireflies gave the Lakewood Blueclaws something to crab about. They flitted by Lakewood, 5-4.
Tim Tebow was 1 for 3 – with one run batted in (don’t be impressed by the RBI: he got it by hitting into a double play with no out and the bases loaded).
FirstEnergy Park is a beautiful playing field, the games played there are as fan-friendly as they can be, and the cost everything taken into acount, maybe 1/15th or 1/20th of going to a Yankee game makes it that much better.
One other thing: remember the name of Blueclaws outfielder Cord Sandberg (no relation to Ryne). He looks like a young man destined for the big leagues.
