It is rare that there are elections in Judea and Samaria (aka the west bank). So it is very interesting to see who is elected when Palestinian Arabs there elect when given the chance.

A former terrorist responsible for murdering six Israelis was elected head of the Hebron city council Saturday, according to various reports.
Tayseer Abu Sneineh, a member of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah party, won the post despite his party winning only seven of 15 seats in West Bank’s largest city.
Sneineh, along with three other Palestinians, fired weapons and threw grenades at the six Israelis on May 2, 1980. Two of the victims were also U.S. citizens, and one other was Canadian. Sneineh and his compatriots were convicted of murder and received life sentences, but were later released as part of a prisoner swap.
To summarize: Palestinian Arabs are almost never given a chance to make their political choices known via the ballot box – illustratively, it has been 12 years since their “leader, mahmoud abbas, was elected….and 8 years since an election was supposed to have taken place.
So when they can, who do they elect? tayseer abu sneineh, the proud murderer of 6 innocent Israelis – unarmed yeshiva students – who had previously been honored as a hero by “fatah“, which media in our country, either through ignorance, Israel hatred or both, insist on calling “moderates”.
This who the world demands that Israel make peace with.
