BULLYING KELLYANNE CONWAY

Evidently, CNN has made a decision about Kellyanne Conway.

Fresh from its success (along with other media) in twisting her use of the term “alternative news” to mean something it did not, at least two of its’ journalists” (quotes are necessary here) have decided that the only reason to have Ms. Conway on their shows is to set her up as some kind of pinata they can batter around at will.

Earlier this week I posted video of a stunningly insulting, obnoxious demonstration of this behavior from CNN’s Chris Cuomo.

In fairness, it should be noted that Cuomo’s bullying “style” (if you want to call it a style) is not restricted to Ms. Conway.  He is part Democrat activist and part street heckler – in other words, just right for today’s CNN.

But now Anderson Cooper has decided to join in the fun.  He is less bullying than Cuomo (not hard to accomplish that).  But every bit as disdainfully insulting.

Cooper uses the “rolling eyes” technique – which is pretty good strategy for someone with an anti-Trump/Conway agenda, because it communicates the insult without having to actually challenge what Ms. Conway is saying, thus deal in facts rather than visuals.

Did either of these two “journalists” pull the same crap on susan rice when she was lying about the Benghazi massacre?  Or anyone in the Obama administration who touted the “success” of ObamaCare?  Or when Obama people were telling us the Iran “deal” was a good one?  Or when they were telling us Obama halved the national debt – a claim which conveniently leaves out the fact that he was President when it jumped over a trillion dollars a year and stayed there for years, so he wasn’t halving anything, he was coming back to where it was before he took office?

Nope.  That’s reserved for the Kellyanne Conways of the world.

Maybe it is just anger and frustration at the fact that CNN so desperately wanted to have Hillary Clinton be the woman who “broke the glass ceiling” by becoming President.  What a celebration of women’s empowerment that would have been!

The problem?  Not only did the Clinton presidency not happen, but a key reason for Donald Trump’s win is that Kellyanne Conway “broke the glass ceiling” by being the first woman ever to run a successful presidential campaign – one that virtually no one thought could be successful.

So instead of celebrating Ms. Conway’s enormous success as a woman, they decided to bitch-slap her for preventing a different woman – the one they were so avidly rooting for – from being the enormous success.

Very mature.  Very journalistically professional, I’m sure.

CNN still bills itself as “the most trusted name in news”.  And I’m starting to understand why:  I have full trust that its “news” will be slanted every time.
