TOMORROW’S SPECIAL ELECTION

As we have discussed, tomorrow there will be a special election to fill the house seat (Georgia, 6th district) vacated by Tom Price.

Hard leftist Jon Ossoff is clearly going to win, and by plenty.  That is because 11 – count ’em – 11 Republicans are splitting the vote.

If Ossoff gets 50% or more, he is the newest house member.  If not, there will be a runoff between him and the next highest vote-getter (virtually certain to be a Republican, probably Karen Handel), on June 20th.

Democrats, who have pumped over $8 million into this election are ready to crow about a sea change if Ossoff wins outright, or even if he just gets a lot more votes than all the other candidates, pursuant to the special election.

Uh…Democrats just lost the Presidency, both houses of congress, two thirds of the governorships and two thirds of the statehouses.

If they think it will be a change of national momentum to win one congressional seat in an atypical race, in a district that has moved from red to purple (Trump won it by just 1%), after shtupping their candidate with a wildly disproportionate amount of campaign money, they’re in worse shape than I thought.

And, in any event, let me reiterate that I do not expect Jon Ossoff to crack 50% tomorrow, thus leaving the seat vacant for another two months.

We’ll soon find out.
