Remember colin kaepernick, the San Francisco 49er quarterback who kneeled during the playing of the National Anthem, “on principle” (and convinced a number of other NFL players to do the same)?
Well, after leading the 49ers to a glorious 2-14 record, he is no longer with the team. He is looking to take that sterling record of success elsewhere.
And guess what? kaepernick says that he is now willing to stand for the National Anthem.
He claims this is because a positive change has been effected, so kneeling is no longer necessary.
What change would that be?
You’ll pardon me if I doubt that some nebulous “positive change” has anything to do with it. Maybe the fact that he’s a lousy quarterback with a lousy record, and if you add in his anti-American BS no team would want him, is a little more relevant.
Funny how “principle” goes out the window then.
